Ken and Checker won the Open at
the Winchester King Buck Classic
was held at Donnybrook, Cedar Grove, WI 2001. This division was open to both
professional and amateur trainer/handlers. Checker was the first dog where Ken
had done all the training from 7 weeks old on. Ken also handled the dog and was
very pleased with Checker's work. He said DU ran some tough tests which
included demanding hunting situations with lots of birds, hidden guns, numerous
blinds (unseen birds), challenging distances and great dogs to compete with.
